Introduction to Hand Weaving

Service Description

This 6 hour course is a great introduction to multi shaft weaving. It is a one day course on pre-warped multi-shaft looms (minimum 4 shafts) You will have a choice of weft colours to choose from. You will try out plain weave, colour and weave and 2/2, 3/1 twill structures. The day will start off with an explanation of the loom and the basics of weaving. At the end of the day, you will take away your woven sample and notes that you can refer back to. Tea, Coffee and biscuits are provided, but please bring a packed lunch along as we will break for 30 minutes at lunchtime. These courses aren’t scheduled at fixed times – instead, we run them to suit your availability. Just get in touch and we’ll arrange a time that works best for you!
